If you’re a regular follower of this site, you know that I’m doing a series of posts about things to do in specific cities with kids this summer. I’ve highlighted lots of great activities to do in some major cities across the US. Not only are these great resources if you live in these areas, but they’re also perfect for travel.
I had the opportunity to go to San Diego about 5 years ago and I fell in love. There was absolutely NOTHING that I didn’t admire about the town. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my kids weren’t with me on the trip. I remember saying about 20 times…”Mary Grace would love this” or “I wish Miller could see this.” I knew instantly my children would love the city as much as I did. Although we’ve yet to visit as a family, I’ve kept a running list of the things I want to do with them on our trip.
Here are my top 20 things to do with kids in San Diego this summer:
- Balboa Park
- Torrey Pines State National Reserve
- Padres Baseball Game at Petco Park
- Coronado Central Beach
- Zoo Safari Park
- Model Railroad Museum
- Old Town
- Reuben H. Fleet Science Center
- La Jolla Sea Lions
- Belmont Park
- USS Midway Museum
- Gondola Ride through Coronado Cays Canals
- Cabrillo National Monument
- Birch Aquarium
- Botanical Gardens
- The New Children’s Museum
- Seaport Village
**All of the activities listed are within a 1 hour driving radius of Downtown.**
