*Chicago At Christmas is a Sponsored Post*
I made a very long and ambitious list of Travel Goals for 2017 (read them all here.) I can honestly say that when I made the list I only had 1 trip planned. We already had plane tickets booked to Ireland which fulfilled the “put a stamp in our passports” resolution. However, I truly didn’t have any specific plans for crossing off the other items on the list.
Fast forward through the year, and things just came together. We ended up crushing our list. Like seriously above and beyond on almost every goal. For example, instead of visiting 3 new (to the kids) states, we did 11!
So as we approached the end of the year, I kept coming back to the one thing we’d yet to cross off: “Plan a holiday trip. It does not necessarily need to be on Thanksgiving, and it won’t be on Christmas…but something in that time window that will specifically be to enjoy a Christmas-y atmosphere in a city other than ours.”
On one hand, I was really pleased with our 2017 travel and didn’t feel an extreme need to cram in another trip in an otherwise very busy season. But, I HATE having incomplete lists. And that got the better of me.
After considering our options, Chicago surfaced as the city we all really wanted to visit. It’s one of our favorite places in the whole world, and we have very magical memories of past Christmas trips there. It had been 4 years since our last Christmas visit to Chicago. And, quite honestly, we were all craving some Lou Malnati’s Pizza!
Planning a few days in the city was ridiculously easy because there are SO many great options at Christmas! In fact, the hardest part was making sure we could fit it all in!
Here are 10 things you have to do in Chicago at Christmas:
