Friday Favorite

Today’s can’t-live-without, favorite travel product: my 20 oz Yeti Tumbler.

I will fully admit, it took me a while to get past the trendiness of a Yeti. I (wrongly) assumed it was all hype. And really, I didn’t realize I needed one until I had one.

On our last road trip I took my new 20 oz Yeti Tumbler and I can say confidently, it changed my life. You see, when I travel, I need Starbucks coffee. More specifically, a “Grande No Whip White Chocolate Mocha.” I always have a dilemma, though, how fast should I drink it?

If I drink it too fast then inevitably I’ll want another. And if I ask to stop for a second coffee, I will have to listen to my husband lecture me on 1 of 2 topics- either “money doesn’t grow on trees” or “if we keep stopping, we’ll never get there.” Who wants to be stuck in a car with Debbie Downer AND no coffee? Not me.

But if I sip my Starbucks and make it last, it always ends up lukewarm. Or cold. And then I end up wasting the end of it which leads back to the “money doesn’t grow on trees” lecture. It was pretty much a lose/lose situation every time.

And then I introduced my Grande No Whip White Chocolate Mocha to my new Yeti Tumbler and exciting things happened.

My drink stayed hot for the whole road trip! Well no, that’s not true. My drink stayed hot until it was gone. It was truly amazing.

So this week in preparation for my “Friday Favorite” travel product promotion- I decided that I needed to do a little more research on the subject. You know, just to make SURE the Yeti Tumbler was going to work for me this summer when I switch to cold drinks. I decided to see how long a Mocha Frappuccino  would stay frozen.

I’m not sure if it was a better test of the Yeti or my willpower, but 5 hours after I bought the drink…

It was still TOTALLY frozen! Crazy!

20 oz Yeti Tumblers are $30 and worth every penny. The only negative is that they aren’t dishwasher safe. Womp, womp! But they are pretty easy to rinse out so I’m not complaining too much. They are BPA free, they don’t sweat and they fit in most car cup holders. If you like to travel, and you enjoy your beverages either hot or cold- the Yeti Tumbler is an investment you’ll want to make. You won’t regret it!
