Did anyone else see the story about the couple who’ve visited all but one Cracker Barrel Restaurant? It’s been all over the news lately and I can’t help sharing! In case you missed it, you can read the full story here. Out of the 645 Cracker Barrel Restaurants- they have eaten at 644 of them! How crazy!

I’m curious when and how this particular couple started keeping track of the different locations they visit! Reading their story also made me wonder how many different Cracker Barrels our family has enjoyed.

Our family’s travel goal is to take our children to all 50 states before they turn 18. Along the way we’ve had so much fun discovering new places, that we’ve begun to set more goals. Recently my son decided he wants to visit every major league baseball park. So far his favorite is Fenway, but he has A LOT more to visit! I am planning to order him this map to track all the ones he visits: Baseball Adventures Push Pin Travel Map.

Likewise, my daughter wants to visit every National Park. It’s been fun for our family to compare the different landscapes of the ones we’ve visited so far! To date, her favorite is either The National Seashore in Cape Cod, or Congaree National Park in South Carolina. These two places could not be more different! Currently we are tracking our visits with our Passport To Your National Parks Book. Both kids enjoy filling the pages with stamps!

In addition to the travel goals our children added, my husband and I have also added to our travel bucket list. This summer we saw several beautiful lighthouses and we decided to start keeping track of the ones we visit. I resisted the urge to purchase the Lighthouse Exploration Journal this summer; however, I plan to add this to our collection soon!

We also are on a quest to find the best ice cream in the world. We make a point of checking out local ice cream shops throughout our travels. I know, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it! The competition is fierce, but so far our favorite is Murphey’s in Ireland. It’s VERY unfortunate that it’s so far away…but that gives us a great reason to go back. (As if we needed a reason to want to go back to Ireland!) To keep track of our favorites we document the different ice cream through pictures. My daughter also devised a ranking system…but that is a whole different post I’ll have to share another time!

Playing checkers on the front porch makes a great break from the car!

Although this couple’s travel goal of going to every Cracker Barrel Restaurant is somewhat bizarre to me, our goals probably sound crazy to someone else! I’d love to hear about some of your crazy (or not so crazy) travel goals! And, specifically, how you plan to keep track of them!
