Most days it seems that I add places to my Travel Bucket List faster than I cross places off.
In fact, the list has grown at an alarming rate recently! Admittedly, most places I add to the list are with my family in mind. I come across a destination I want to show my children, or I see a place my husband would love. However, adding Magnolia Market at the Silos to my list was for entirely selfish reasons!
Like with almost everyone else in America that owns a TV, I obsess over the show ‘Fixer Upper.’ While I’m really not all that into home design or renovations, Chip and Joanna Gaines are easily the most likable people in the world. Beyond being amazingly talented with exceptional taste, they are so down to earth and funny. I admire how they are living out both their faith and their dreams.
If you follow the show, you’ve seen them build an empire in their little town of Waco, Texas. After purchasing a rundown section of the city, they’ve completely restored it into a magical land of shopping, eating and entertainment. Magnolia Market at the Silos features a little something for everyone!
Joanna recreated her famous store (Magnolia Market) and expanded in the new space. She still offers unique home decorating pieces meant to inspire. In addition to the store, she created a bakery- Silos Baking Co.- full of treats from her personal recipes. (Yes, Joanna Gains is truly a superhero and I have NO idea how she finds time for all her fabulousness!) In looking over the menu, I’m most excited to try…well, everything!
In addition to the market and bakery, the Gaines family added a whole gardening business to the new space. Based on their own farming lifestyle, they desire to educate and help families create their own home gardens. Magnolia Seed + Supply store sells gardening tools, seed kits, and a variety of planting vessels.
Lastly, the space at Magnolia Market at the Silos offers a place for families to hang out. The lawn provides a grassy place for children (and adults) to play and spend the day. Food trucks set up and people are welcome to picnic and play games. It’s truly an experience and fun for everyone!
This stop in Waco has been added to our Texas Trip Itinerary! Despite selfishly wanting to experience the market, I am certain our whole family will end up loving it!
