Gift Guide For Kids Who Don’t Need More Stuff

I love EVERYTHING about the Christmas season…except adding more stuff to our house. Sound familiar? If so, check out this complete gift guide for kids who don’t need more!

*My TOP family present at the end of this gift guide for kids!*

Experience Gift

These gifts can be given as a family membership or a single visit. Be creative in how you gift experiences since there isn’t immediate gratification. For example, combining zoo tickets with a small stuffed animal is a cute way for kids to receive something tangible on Christmas while the bulk of the gift is the experience.

  • Local Zoo
  • Local Museum
  • Amusement Park
  • CityPASS for nearby city or upcoming weekend trip. Choose from these 9 cities: Seattle, Dallas, New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston,Tampa, San Francisco, or Atlanta.
  • Movie Tickets
  • Mani/Pedi Gift Certificate
  • Coupon for shopping trip to select a special outfit
  • Lessons (music, cooking, art, sport)
  • Concert Tickets
  • Great Wolf Lodge Night
  • Sporting event tickets

Consumable Gifts

These are gifts that children will use, and then eventually be thrown away. The beauty is that they are enjoyed, but don’t ultimately create clutter or become items to be donated.

Subscriptions

My kids love receiving subscriptions because it’s the gift that keeps on giving. We love checking the mailbox for deliveries!

 Gifts With Purpose

I guess I’m not completely opposed to “stuff” as long as it serves a purpose in our house. I love items that my children can use for travel (obviously!) And I also appreciate anything educational or that we can do as a family. Now that my kids are a little older, they also really enjoy new jackets and pj’s. Those gifts are a win/win because it’s stuff I’d likely be purchasing anyway!

These are a few of my favorite things that we use together as a family. If you don’t already have them, Christmas is a great excuse to make the purchase.

Top Gift Suggestion: A Family Trip

I would be remiss if I didn’t include this idea. There is truly no better gift that an opportunity for some quality family time making incredible memories. You don’t have to go far, it can even be a staycation in your town. But kids will LOVE the idea of traveling together!
