Let’s travel to a galaxy far, far away: The Top Star Wars Themed Destinations To Visit With Kids

Okay, so I’m not even going pull off this post without first telling you the truth. I don’t get the whole Star Wars thing. Like not even a little bit.

Thankfully, this is one of the only things I have in common with my husband (opposites attract, except when it comes to Star Wars!) Anyway, I probably could have gone my entire life without giving the whole phenomenon a second thought…

But then my son went to preschool and someone introduced him to light sabers. The obsession quickly grew and suddenly I couldn’t walk through Target without Miller pointing to every single piece of Star Wars merchandise.

So now I try to fain interest for the love of my boy. It truly doesn’t matter how many times I read through our collection of Star Wars books or watch the movie- I still just don’t get it. There are too many plot twists, and family relationships and galaxies…I can’t keep it all straight!

However, just because it isn’t my thing- I know there are TONS of obsessed people out there, just like Miller! There are tons of Star Wars themed destinations that you can go visit with your family. And, since I do love travel we might just have to eventually take a trip that caters to Miller’s love of all things Star Wars.

In honor of May 4th (“May the force…”) here are my top picks for Star Wars Themed Destinations :

  1. Redwood National & State Park, California (home of the Ewoks)
  2. Walt Disney World
  3. Lake Como, Italy (Naboo)
  4. Death Valley National Park (Tatooine)
  5. Legoland
  6. Island of Djerba, Tunisia (Tatooine)
  7. Disney Cruise (Star Wars Day at Sea)
